Taudo,
Let me know how they are when you give them a long(er) test. I'm very interested. I do like the horns on my model-15's, but would like to hear about how the tractrix design works with the 802 (i have the 802-8g). From what I've heard they should sound GREAT.

They sound best on conical if a 1 kHz XO is acceptable.

Hi, tillpape
There is a great homepage. I appreciate to your ideas.
BTW, Is it yours completed plan?
my opinions are :
1. to reduce the opening mouth size can makes the bass flat down to 32Hz, 2H x 12W. Of coz, 828 cab?s inside also need some modification.
2. though TAD 1601a mounted on 828 cab can provide deepen bass than the Altec 515s, but as I known that 1601a just has 97db.
Anyway, it stills a great job that I?ve ever seen.
Just a lot of blah. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/

Just for fun.
To beware some tractrix horns reproduce sounds as battle signals ?Woooooo? when playing music http://www.hostboard.com/forums/

Will do, Mike. Unfortunately I've got only one day off in 9 or so - it will be Sunday before I can even listen to them again.
This working sure interferes with one's hobbies!

Round horn mouth would provide round diffuseness as fulgurite lightening. So I think add a lens will get some improvement.
